Help for Mental, Emotional or Behavioral Concerns
Sometimes it is hard to figure out whether a problem we may be facing requires physical or mental health help.
When we have experienced loss or stress or a big change in our lives and we want to get back on track, it helps to be able to talk it over with a trained provider who is unbiased and who sees that all parts of our life experience affect our body, mind and spirit. Many patients find it easier to come to me for counseling for emotional difficulties before they are ready to engage with a mental health professional.
I can assist you with:
Stress and Worry
Anxiety and Depression
Adjustment Challenges
Eating Disorders
Exercise and Weight Concerns
Infertility Difficulties
Post-Partum/New Parent Challenges
Coping with Physical or Medical Restrictions
Learning Challenges, Developmental Disabilities
ADHD
Autism Spectrum Disorders
Trauma and Abuse
Some Sexual Matters
Sleep Problems
Coordinating care with other providers
If a patient requires more specialized medical or mental health care than I can offer, I will help to identify and make referrals to appropriate professionals. Patients seem to improve more steadily and thoroughly when they continue with my hands-on, body- centered treatments while they receive mental health therapy—better than if they receive either type of care alone. With my patients’ permission, I may communicate regularly with their therapists and other doctors to coordinate our efforts and maximize support during their healing process.
